Detail

What's involved

What we take

Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ranges, ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, water heaters, water softeners, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, treadmills and other large exercise equipment.

Refrigerants and why they matter

Fridges, freezers and air conditioners contain refrigerants that have to be recovered by a certified technician before the unit is scrapped. It's a legal requirement, not a courtesy. Anyone who offers to take a fridge for cash out of a truck bed is probably not doing this step.

Disconnection

Standard plug-in appliances we simply unplug. Hardwired ranges, gas connections and plumbed units need shutting off properly first. If your setup looks unusual or the shutoff is seized, say so when you call — occasionally a plumber or electrician needs to go first, and we'll tell you rather than force it.

Questions

Appliance removal questions

Do you take working appliances?

Yes, and working units in decent condition go to donation partners where possible.

Can you disconnect a gas range?

We can disconnect a standard shutoff. If the valve is seized or the connection looks modified, we'll recommend a plumber rather than risk it.

Is there an extra charge for fridges?

Refrigerant recovery is built into the price rather than added on. The quote you get is the price.
