What's involved
How a garage cleanout runs
We start by walking the space with you and agreeing what stays. Everything else gets sorted into three piles as we load: donate, recycle, dispose. It's faster than it sounds — most single-bay garages are done in two to three hours.
What we can't take
Paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and automotive fluids are household hazardous waste and go to a designated facility, not in our truck. Same for propane tanks and ammunition. Tyres are usually handled through separate recycling programmes. We'll set these aside and point you to where they go.
The stuff you forgot was in there
Old electronics, scrap metal, bicycle frames and appliance carcasses all have recycling routes. Garages produce more recyclable material than almost any other cleanout, which is why the landfill share on these jobs tends to be low.

Do I need to sort it beforehand?
No. Sorting is part of the job. If you want to pull out anything you're keeping first, that speeds things up, but it isn't required.
What about the paint?
Set it aside — we can't legally take it. Colorado has paint recycling drop-off points and we'll tell you where the nearest one is.
How long does it take?
A single-bay garage is usually two to three hours. Two bays with loft storage can run most of a day.
